Mirrors: On Art, Death, and Life

We are so proud and excited to share this innovative, first-of-its-kind program that we held at the Tel Aviv Museum. A group of women coping with bereavement and loss came to the museum every week. Each time, we sat in a different exhibition space, contemplated the works, breathed, shared and listened. We met with new layers in our being of living with love, loss and memory.

Nine weekly unique sessions at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, co-facilitated by Rachel Fox-Ettun with Doron Rabina.
As you all know, the belief in the healing power of the arts is one of the foundations Haverut is based on. This program is a dream Rachel had for years and was so happy to meet Doron Rabina an Israeli artist and educator. who was the Chief Curator of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and is now also a certified spiritual caregiver. This Chevruta is meant to be. Walking with the group in the quiet museum that is closed for public and the whole space is only for us, was like walking into a temple, a sacred space, allowing the Divine to speak with us through the language of beauty and image.

“These were the only hours of the week when I disconnected from the heavy sadness and crying that have surrounded me since he was killed.”
“A magical time. I could connect with my son, as if he were with me in the museum.”
“We spoke a special language. There was no need to explain; we were in a healing dimension.”

We thank the Arison Foundation for this unique transformative gift.
