The Hebrew word Hodesh (month) also means renewal. Every month has an enlightenment, a spiritual influence that makes it special . Each month is a potential renewal of the different aspects in each person, a new chance to build and advance them. There is one constant reality that does not change and that is lack of permanence- change.
The month of Tamuz can be a month of victory, of overcoming obstacles. Precisely from a place disadvantage and darkness there is the possibility to grow. Doing good gives us an opportunity to see good. Hessed (good deeds) is the power in our soul that can turn the darkness into light.
Last week I had an experience that fills the soul. We held the end of the year event of “Haverut in the Galilee”. The hospital in Zefat filled with melody, color and song and hearts that expanded with the knowledge that all this is possible. This is a year of growth for me, a year that brought a new language, benevolent spirit and wonderful people. Working with wonderful people washes away the heat of Tamuz, cleanses the soul and does good in the world. This is the end of my first year in Haverut! I came to know a wonderful organization, magical team and a new language. I have the great privilege to be part of this place, to belong….
