Haverut in the Community
Building a Healthy Society
The Communal Space
Broadening our vision beyond the setting of the medical center, Haverut identified that many individuals struggle to cope with aging, chronic illness, significant life transitions, as well as other challenges, including loneliness. In response, Haverut has developed a number of programs that focus on enhancing spiritual resilience in the community.
We believe that a healthy society is a holistic one, in which illness and loss are combined with creativity and spirit, and in which all aspects of life, including death, are recognized.
Connecting to Spiritual Resources
Textual study, breathing, music, art, writing, and nature are all used as a basis for thinking and talking about meaning and purpose.
Death and dying are perceived as a natural part of life that we can take responsibility over and prepare for, much like marriage, childbirth, and parenting.
