At the hotel, I participate in all the activities. Today, at age 82, the day is quite boring. Usually, I attend two courses per week at Veterans of the Galilee.
I have nowhere to return yet. They will build a protected room, and then I will return home. The kibbutz was not severely damaged, except for the gardens. I have a large garden, and I invest mostly in it—cleaning and gathering fruits. I threw out the contents of the fridge and I am already waiting to go home.
I always hope for the best and believe it will be good. I hope the wars will end and that the grandchildren will not have to serve in the army. I wish and hope for health at any age.
I have children and grandchildren in the north, and I worry they will not return there. My eldest son was a permanent army pilot and bombed near Malkiya during the Lebanon war.
I have love for home, for people around me, and for family—it makes me happy. I am easily hurt and slow to forgive. I loved my original family very much. My mother moved in with me after being widowed, and I am happy to live here. My husband’s mother also lives here—Persian and Italian—who did not know how to communicate but became friends.
