Memory

I did not want to stay in the kibbutz, but my partner Amatzia wanted to stay, even while working outside. We created a reversed reality—he worked outside, I worked in the kibbutz and raised our children.
We have 4 children and I adopted 2 more from Hatzor after their parents died in a car accident. This was the best thing in my life.
At 34, I had health issues; my uterus was removed, leading to depression. Adoption helped me overcome it.

October 7

The hotel is wonderful and feels like home. All the classes from Tel Hai were transferred here. My son brought my sewing machine—it is my salvation. I repair clothes for anyone who needs it, including hotel staff. About 70 of us from Malkiya are here.
One grandson, son of my deceased daughter, moved to Canada.

Love

My partner was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 14 years ago. I also survived breast cancer 15 years ago. He once got upset when they took his driver’s license. Despite this, we shared many activities—singing, and solving puzzles together.

Gratitude

Life is a continual learning process. A hotel staff member taught me sewing I never knew before. My son brought the view from my home—the snowy Hermon—to me here.

Longing

I miss Malkiya—its landscape, atmosphere, and friends. I will return to Malkiya without doubt—my husband and daughter are buried there.

Blessing

May the country remain sane, and may my community in Malkiya return home
